Personally, I find 50% pillars irritating as their hitbox is far too large so you end up hitting them unless you're looking almost straight-through. If you'd like pretty in-depth videos on many different flavors of such bases, check out Grand Spartan on YouTube. If that's your thing, the most efficient way is with a fall trap design as already mentioned.

For most people, it's to consider zombies as loot delivery vehicles and little else. It depends on what your idea of end-game is. Tl dr I just want a functionable endgame base able to withstand the hordes on nights 49, 70, however long they go (infinite?) that I can replicate in my own game. It seems at some point there will be a horde night that is throwing everything at you (and therefore after that will mostly be the same right?) and there is a base design that can handle that. Where are the endgame base designs that can withstand every horde? I want to begin working on one so it's ready when those nights come, and am not very good at designing myself. Every video or imgur album I can find seems to say "This is a great base to survive until you can get concrete and steel" or something to that effect. However I want to know what the endgame base designs are and I cannot for the life of me seem to find anything. I use a simple cobblestone base surrounded by 3 rows of spikes which seems pretty common. I have survived Day 7 a couple times now on a couple different games, (One SP, One MP with a friend) but haven't gotten to Day 14 just yet. I'm a pretty new player, still learning a lot of the basics of the game.

Something fun was removed and the proof is here - removed for no good reason.Īnd I'll not hijack this any further. There was no need to remove bunker building and raising the bedrock level. And no matter what, there will always be a way to optimize your defences to make horde nights easily defendable. What everybody is doing however, even them, is using the game mechanics to their advantage to overcome the challenge. The AI will always do the same, we will test their limits and translate their failures into our successes and once we have decoded in our minds how the Zds react, everything will always result in what some mistakenly have called "exploits". There is no way any number of AI lines will outsmart the player. Go ahead and play the game another few thousand hours and you'll see.

If you haven't understood it by now then I won't be able to help you and I won't try. Anybody still not convinced will only see how right I was through doing the same monkey trick another 100-200 times and getting bored by it in the end. That video says more than any words I've said about this topic and thanks for posting it. I find it dissapointing and sad that I get ranted at for my opinion on how good a16 was, for saying how little a17x would change in how horde nights play out in the end (in regard to "exploits" - not my choice of words), how a17x was NOT the new saviour of the kingdom of 7DTD just because bunker building was nerfed. I came up with a way to make the zds run a perpetual loop in the first few hours I played a17x. And I said it was just a matter of time before before the a17x mechanics would be understood and new totally safe bases would be built. I can't help thinking about so many people who have complained about how you could make totally safe bases in a16 so there was no challenge anymore (or just dig underground) and that that was exploitative of the game mechanics and how glad they are that underground base building was gone. I'm sad and glad at the same time, because it proves I was right.
